Tim Pee (1976 -  )

Narwhal Gallery: Tim Pee

Tim Pee was born on July 17, 1976 in Cape Dorset, Baffin Island, Nunavut. As Inuit artists are largely self-taught they each have their own unique technique and style. Tim's work is no exception, having mastered and specialised in carving polar bears prowling or sometimes in a rampant pose, unlike many of his contemporaries who often reflect the Inuit sense of whimsy. Tim's work is also recognizable by the lightly etched eyes, remarkable sense of balance, and geometric forms in the face. His smaller pieces are delicate and finely featured, showing the local stone to its best advantage.
